Walk High in NYC

Likely old news to New Yorkers, I just learned about The High Line and look forward to putting a visit on my itinerary the next time I venture East.  Built in the 1930s, this elevated track was constructed to keep freight trains away from the public. This mile and a half long elevated track has been sitting dormant for years and was recently reopened as a beautiful public park, run by the city of New York.  “It features an integrated landscape, designed by landscape architects James Corner Field Operations, with architects Diller Scofidio + Renfro, combining meandering concrete pathways with naturalistic plantings.” More info here.
