Self-titled “artrepreneur” Andy Howell has launched a new online venture to “bring independent artists and brands the knowledge and guidance needed to successfully navigate the landscape of the institutional art and manufacturing worlds, as the two have begun to cross pollinate and ultimately mesh.” His goal is to give fellow artists a helping hand, a platform, an opportunity to turn all that starving artistry into gold.

In short, ArtsProjekt gives artists the opportunity physically manifest and sell reproductions of their original art and designs as prints, posters, apparel, footwear, skateboards, and more.

“Gerardo Yepiz launched the first Mexican Mail Art website in 1995, His downloadable stencils revolutionized how a generation of young artists, from Mexico City to Tijuana, used street installation and graffiti as a critical forum. Known as Acamonchi, a slang term for piggyback riding in northern Mexico, Yepiz adopted the strategies of street art as the starting point for his fine art while also distinguishing himself as a graphic designer working with clients on both sides of the border including the Nortec Collective, MTV, MSTRKRFT, Reebok, Vans, Osiris shoes, Adidas, Pepsi, Warner records, Tribal Gear and Obey Giant.”

Cheeky activist and artist Roadsworth is quickly becoming the Banksy or Shepard Fairey of his hometown Montreal. But rather than spraying his artwork onto blank canvases like a walls or billboards, he uses shadows, stains and traditional road markings as inspiration. He began in 2001, painting yellow bicycle symbols around town as a form of protest against the lack of non-exhaust pathways. After 9/11, his focus quickly grew. “Instead of feeling like a helpless passenger on a train headed for disaster I felt that I had created a voice for myself amid the noise of the city. This is one of the reasons I resorted to a form of iconography that I feel is closer in spirit to satire than it is to protest.” Like all street artists, Roadsworth has had his fair share of run-ins with the law (fifty-three counts to be exact) so he remains relatively anonymous, but is available for commissions. Check out all of his work here.
