Danish architecture firm Bay Arch (their site is worth a look, too) had a solution for the vulnerable Hollywood sign (until Hef stepped in to save the day as announced today). No one wanted to see the huge white iconic letters-in-the-sky get lost to a huge development project and architect Christian Bay-Jorgensen has a very LA solution: Turn it into a hotel.

The hotel design project includes building the highest city hotel and transforming the Hollywood sign location into letter-shaped hotel units. Supposedly the best hotel in LA will offer 308 hotel rooms, each of which will offer beautiful accommodation, the hotel observation deck and panoramic view from the hill above the city.

Photos from a beautiful little hotel in Lisbon. They seem fitting for this bright spring Friday afternoon. Mi Casa En Lisboa features cleverly appointed rooms and garden breakfasts on the terrace in the hillside neighborhood of Graca. Can I go now, please?

We felt like we were at home, it made us want to relo­cate to Lis­boa. Maria is a lovely host and the neigh­bor­hood is absolutely per­fect. Per­haps not touris­tic but we wanted to feel like we were a local and we did, imme­di­ately.  Go to Lis­bon. Do your­self a favor.

You may kick back in the lounge or your beautifully appointed room,  but you’ll inevitably be drawn to the center of the Cote Cour universe, the courtyard garden. Sure seems like a wonderful way to find a moment of quiet amidst the electricity that is urban China.
